Baba Sheikh Farid (1173–1266), a revered Sufi saint and poet, was known for his deep spirituality and ascetic lifestyle. One day, as the story goes, Baba Farid was sitting in a remote place, deeply absorbed in divine remembrance. Weakened by his rigorous fasting and meditative practices, he had become frail. Seeing this, a crow began circling above him, waiting for him to perish, mistaking him for a lifeless being.In this moment, Baba Farid, rather than being disturbed, recited this powerful couplet:

"Kaaga karang dhandolya;

Sagla khaya maas;

Eh do nainan mat choohiyo'

Pir dekhan ki aas"

Translation:"O Crow, you've searched my skeleton, and eaten all my flesh, But please do not touch my eyes, for I still hope to see my beloved Divine (Pir/God)."
